protect on-site wetlands. Inside, light,
airy, flexible spaces with multiple uses, a good mix of open and private spaces, and
variable ceiling heights make this smaller home look larger while maintaining its resource
efficiency. The construction of this home
employed advanced framing, and waste prevention and recycling measures. Materials included many recycled products,
low-maintenance finishes, and rapidly-renewable products.
The home includes energy-efficient materials and construction measures. Indoor air quality was promoted through the choice
of finishes, and worker and occupant health were promoted through safe installation
procedures and choice of less-toxic materials. Finally,
energy-efficient fixtures and appliances round out an exemplary project.
